Pantry moth or Indian meal moth (Plodia interpunctella)

Pantry moths lay their eggs in stored food and grains. Finding an adult moth may be a sign that food is infested. Adult females can lay hundreds of eggs near food sources and the larvae eat food, plastic bags and thin cardboard. Even unopened packages may become infested. 

Pantry moths consume a wide range of foods including cereal, grains, nut, beans, flour, oats, dried fruit, spices, chocolate, candy as well as dried pet food.
